We are seeking an experienced CCNP Level Network Engineer to assist with a large-scale access switch refresh project onsite 100% in Boston, MA for a 6 month+ contract. The project involves upgrading network infrastructure in approximately 150 telecommunications closets , replacing aging Cisco switches (2960s and 4500s) with Cisco Catalyst 9300s and 9500s .

The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with modern Cisco Catalyst platforms, a strong background in Layer 2 switching, and a working knowledge of OSPF. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as maintenance windows will vary by hospital department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hands on deployment of Cisco Catalyst switches
  • Define switch configurations based on survey findings
  • Migrate legacy Catalyst Switches to new 9300/9500 series switches
  • Execute switch replacements in accordance with customer procedures
  • Validate post-upgrade connectivity and assist with troubleshooting as needed

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • senior-level experience with Cisco Catalyst switching platforms
  • Proficient in Layer 2 networking : configuration, deployment, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding and application of OSPF for routing functions
  • Ability to work variable shifts including business hours and after-hours maintenance windows

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Infoblox (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
  • Familiarity with other network management and automation tools
