Travel RN - Acute Dialysis

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an acute dialysis position requiring BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and at least 2 years of recent dialysis experience.Job Details•Work in an acute care dialysis suite and ICU settings,•Primary patient population includes ESRD and acute renal failure, with both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments,•Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 2:1 and 1:1 depending on treatment type,•Patients in the acute suite are on telemetry monitors, with monitor techs available; bedside and central monitoring used in ICU,•12-hour day shifts starting around 7am, with every other Saturday and on-call one night per week and every other Sunday required,•Floating between Bryan and College Station facilities may be required,•Uses MEDITECH EMR system,Job Requirements•Active RN license (state or compact); pending licenses not accepted,•Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted,•Minimum 2 years of recent dialysis experience in acute care required,•Dialysis-specific competencies including AVF/AVG cannulation, CVC access, peritoneal dialysis initiation/termination, and management of hemodialysis complications,•Ability to titrate heparin and administer set rate drips as needed,•Copy of driver's license required for consideration,•Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year,Additional Information•Provide acute and ICU dialysis care including both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments,•Recognition and management of dialysis complications and emergencies is expected,•No nurse aides are on this unit; team includes monitor techs and ICU nurses as needed,•Navy blue scrubs required,•Unit-specific orientation starts with paperwork and includes at least one shift on the unit,•Must participate in the holiday rotation with core staff,•Call outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination,),•hash,:•11636893357559801406,
