We are searching for an experienced Accounting Specialist at our Headquarters facility in Tuscaloosa, AL.

The Accounting Specialist will administer various corporate accounting processes including: posting daily cash activity, balancing & reconciling bank accounts, assisting in period close duties, and vendor administration. This position will also prepare and maintain corporate accounting records for internal and external purposes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record daily cash transactions in general ledger, including assigning coding and gathering support.
  • Reconcile all Company bank statements.
  • Manage new vendor administration.
  • Assist Corporate Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data entered in financial system.
  • Administer Biller Exchange (online portal for hunting club payments).
  • Complete period closing duties including: journal entries, account reconciliations, uploading credit card transactions, recording art print sales, maintaining inventory subledger, maintaining Aliceville Lodge inventory subledger, invoicing headquarters tenants for monthly rent, and assisting Corporate Accounting Manager with reconciling balance sheet accounts for all business support entities.
  • Assist with consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare annual revenue testing reconciliations for auditors.
  • Assist on special projects as needed.
  • Post Lumbertrack payments daily.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1 to 2 years experience in accounting field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior bookkeeping experience
  • Experience balancing entries in the General Ledger and reconciling bank accounts
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to contact vendors and customers by phone
  • Technology saavy
  • Ability to post a high volume of transactions at a fast pace

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Workday system

The base salary range for this position is $48,000 - $72,000. Actual base salary is based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
