Job Description This position can work remotely as long as the work location is within a commutable driving distance of the Washington DC area or based out of our Arlington, VA office. Job Summary: The Director of Business Development for the US Government will have expertise in programs within U.S. federal agencies such as the State Department, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security. This role involves developing and leading large domestic competitive pursuits across our Business Unit. You will manage the full Business Development lifecycle across multiple pursuits and proposals, leading capture and proposal teams to develop solutions, pursue win strategies, and secure wins. Key tasks include identifying gaps, conducting intelligence, designing capture plans, and monitoring competitors. You will also contribute to overall BD strategy, partnerships, business plans, and marketing related to key captures. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Lead assigned captures with ownership of win strategy, solution development, and responsibility for delivering proposals over $10M. Leverage competitive intelligence to influence win strategies and develop Price-to-Win models. Engage with customers to understand key requirements and position Teledyne FLIR products accordingly. Interpret customer requirements to inform product development for competitive advantage. Participate in business planning activities such as pipeline reviews, bid development, opportunity sessions, gate reviews, win theme workshops, and proposal reviews. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years in Business Development, including 5 years leading large complex pursuits (over $100M). Leadership skills to organize and execute capture activities, assess win probability, and engage customers. Strong understanding of Win Strategy and Price-to-Win techniques. Knowledge of US Government acquisition and source selection methodologies. Able and willing to travel up to 30-50%, mainly domestically. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a SECRET clearance (active clearance preferred). Ability to operate independently and build relationships with management and technical staff. Preferred Qualifications Experience with U.S. Federal Government. Experience with budgets, programs, and investments. Operational expertise in surveillance, unmanned aircraft, or security solutions. Master’s degree in business or related field.
