NewsNation is seeking a news Sr. Graphic Designer to be part of a bold team of in-house designers, in downtown Chicago, Illinois. We’re looking for a self-motivated Sr. Designer who has proven design skills that focus on typography and composition for broadcast design, video, social media and print needs.
The ideal candidate is a master at designing daily news graphics in Photoshop that can be complex at times, can create effective logo designs in Illustrator and can also execute intermediate to advance level motion graphics in AfterEffects. Working effectively with tight deadlines and quick problem-solving skills are required. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years’ experience working in broadcast news, local or national network level. Similar experience in broadcast entertainment or post-production or comparable design industry considered.
Advanced graphic design and typography skills are required.
Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are required.
Advanced layout and composition skills required.
Advanced Photo manipulations skills using Photoshop required.
Intermediate to advanced level motion design skills using AfterEffects required.
Must be able to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Unconventional work hours may be required
Must be able to translate top news story content quickly and effectively into compelling graphic designs.
High level ability to design for broadcast, print and digital media.
Must work well solo or with others in a collaborative, team environment.
Ability and willingnes s to work on and help steer several projects at one time
Ability and willingness to share ideas, technical and creative concepts with other team members,
Ability to follow brand standards, design workflow protocol.
Skills in InDesign, Keynote, Powerpoint, Cinema 4D, Premiere software are a plus.
Must be able to work Saturday or Sunday, early mornings or unconventional hours. Holiday work may be required. Hybrid remote hours possible after initial training period.
Duties such as photography, photo editing, print design, large format design, environmental design, projection map design web design, social media design, on boarding of new team members when needed, and other design related work will be needed as necessary for specific projects.
Job requires an undergraduate degree in graphic arts or equivalent experience.
Must provide a link to an on-line portfolio for consideration.

Salary Range - $70,000 - $80,000
