Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Odessa, Texas.

Job Description & Requirements

Position: Critical Care RN
Shift: Nights, 3x12 (18:30 – 07:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: Yes

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years (Charge experience preferred, Travel required, Trauma Level II preferred, Community Hospital experience preferred)
• Charting: Cerner (required experience)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC or TCAR (either), Stroke education (6 hrs – can provide), EKG course (can provide)

Skills

• Critical Care competencies including:
  • Ventilator management, CVA/Stroke management, Multi-system organ failure
  • Vasoactive & Cardiac drip titration, Emergency medications, ABG & Dysrhythmia interpretation
  • ICP monitoring, External ventricular drains (EVD), Lumbar drains, Hypothermia protocol
  • Central/PICC line management, Blood product administration, IV insulin protocols
  • Post-cardiac surgery (step-down), Post-craniotomy/neurosurgery, Spinal cord/trauma care
  • BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring*
  • Procedural support: Chest tubes, Sedation, Sheath removal*
  • Wound vac, GI surgery, TAVR/TAVI*
    (*if competent/experienced)

Unit Details

• Beds: 20 (Critical Care)
• Daily Census: ~15
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Support Services: RT, PT, Pharmacy, IV Team, RRT, Radiology, Social Services, Interpretation, Transportation, Unit Secretary
• Float Requirements: MS, Tele, ER (for CC holds), other specialties per competency
• Weekend Coverage: Required
