Job Description & Requirements * Specialty: Labor and Delivery * Discipline: RN * Start Date: 09/15/2025 * Duration: 4 weeks * 36 hours per week * Shift: 12 hours, nights * Employment Type: Travel **Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)** **Job Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our Women's and Children's Unit. This position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, as well as care for newborns. The ideal candidate will have prior LDRP experience in a community hospital setting. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and newborns in accordance with established protocols. - Assist in deliveries, neonatal resuscitations, and perform assessments on newborns including assigning APGAR scores. - Administer medications to newborns post-delivery and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Epic). - Monitor patients' progress during labor, utilizing appropriate interventions and assessments as needed. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Participate in staff orientation and training as needed. - Float to other units as necessary to assist with patient care, assuming non-assignment roles to support nursing staff. - Be available for on-call shifts and work weekends as per scheduling requirements. - Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to facility policies and procedures. **Qualifications:** - Current RN license with a minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery and LDRP care. - Required certifications: BLS, NRP. Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS (or PEARS). - Recent experience with Epic documentation within the past 2 years is mandatory. - Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. **Work Schedule:** - 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) with possible rotation every 2 weeks. - Expected to participate in on-call duties; 2 shifts in a rolling 4-week timetable. - Must be available for every other weekend and work during holidays. **Patient Population:** - Care provided to a diverse patient population, including laboring women, postpartum patients, and newborn infants, with occasional medical-surgical overflow. **Unit Specific Information:** - The unit has a capacity of 10 beds including triage rooms. - No NICU resources onsite; experience in a community hospital environment is preferred.
