Welder
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Welder to join our team for a federal construction or renovation project. The Welder will have experience with structural and/or pipe welding in a construction setting, understand safety protocols. Primary Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements. Weld structural components using various processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-core) and materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum). Perform cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly of metal parts. Operate welding and fabrication tools, torches, plasma cutters, and heavy-duty equipment safely and effectively. Conduct visual and quality inspections of welds and joints to meet code and contract specifications. Follow job-specific welding procedures (WPS) and safety plans. Maintain daily time logs for Davis-Bacon certified payroll (WH-347). Adhere to OSHA and site-specific safety guidelines and participate in toolbox talks and inspections. Basic Qualifications: TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required Minimum 3 years of experience as a welder in commercial or industrial construction. Proficient in structural welding and/or pipe welding using at least one major process (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, GMAW). Ability to pass weld tests in accordance with AWS or ASME standards. Familiarity with reading fabrication drawings and layout work. Reliable transportation and availability for full project duration. Willingness to work in varied environments (outdoors, heights, confined spaces, etc.). Preferred Qualifications: Current welding certifications (AWS D1.1, D1.5, ASME IX, etc.). Experience working on federally funded, military, or public infrastructure projects. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. EC-DAS Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.
