Patient Care Assistant
The Patient Care Assistant, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care. Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. Patient Care Assistants provide continuous observation and monitoring of assigned patients. Notifies nursing staff if the patient requires assistance, control, or other nursing intervention. Knowledgeable and supportive of patients, the confidentiality of HIPAA protected information, and other related hospital policies. The PCA assists patients in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation requirements. Shift Available: 7pm-7am Status Available: Part time, benefit eligible (48 hours per pay period
every two weeks) Every third weekend and holiday rotation Required Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or a minimum of 18 years of age. Recent experience desired. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, lifting greater than 35 pounds using mechanical assistance.
