Welder
We are seeking a Barge Welder experienced in stick welding and MIG welding. The primary responsibility is to repair barges that come up and down the river. Repairs are conducted onsite with precise materials supplied by our machine shop. Responsibilities
Perform stick welding and MIG welding on barges. Conduct grinding and torch cutting as required. Utilize blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and fitting. Work efficiently within a machine shop environment to supply precise materials needed for repairs. Essential Skills
Proficiency in MIG and stick welding techniques. Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation. Skilled in grinding and torch cutting. Ability to accurately measure and fit components using a tape measure. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding certificates are highly desirable. Previous shipyard experience is preferred. Ability to work in varying weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, and heat. Why Work Here?

The role requires working on a barge and being comfortable with elements such as wind, rain, snow, and heat. The position involves two shifts: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM with 50 hours one week and 64 hours the next week, including work every other weekend, and a second shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
