Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in San Antonio, Texas as a Team Lead for the Industrial Power Systems Division. As a team lead you will support our Logistics Department, provide day-to-day leadership of the assigned team to ensure the team safely and efficiently performs the activities related to the supply chain, logistics, and analytical work to produce Caterpillar diesel engines and generators, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. What you will do: Lead the work and train and/or certify employees, ensuring their proficiency Champion the adherence to safety guidelines as well as 5S, a system that helps organize and maintain a productive work environment Provide process-related information and escalation of issues to the Logistics Manager, engineers, and/or maintenance departments Ability to fill any team position and accomplish various tasks Use manufacturing or inventory systems (i.e. PLEX and MAMM) for inventory count reconciliation Complete root cause analysis of defects discovered in the cycle count, audit and reconcile processes Ship parts domestically and verify invoices to ensure inventory accuracy Ensure that materials received and delivered are free from quality defects Re-pack and arrange parts for warehouse storage or delivery to the assembly area Operate sit down forklifts to move materials within the facility Communicate with transportation carriers and setup pickups and/or shipments Monitor material inventory levels and order if necessary Complete material reports to send out communication on material and functional area metrics Collaborate with other departments for problem-solving and process improvement Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions Execute daily work assignments and special projects directed by the Production Manager Facilitate employee training for processes and certifications Maintain effective communication within the team and across departments Assisting in leading various team meetings for the assigned area Perform other assigned duties What you will have: Minimum 1 years' experience in warehouse/supply chain work environment, leadership experience or relevant college degree or combination of experiences Previous experience and/or certification in operating forklifts, tugger, and/or other power equipment Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English Proficiency in PLEX menus (control panel, check sheets, inventory search, rejection logs, etc.) Intermediate experience with computers, inventory management software, and Excel Ability to handle departmental delegation during issue resolution Flexibility in shift and/or value stream assignments Initiative and willingness to speak up What would make you a top candidate: At least 1-years' experience in material handling, inventory management, or supply chain working environments At least 1-years' leadership experience in a formal or informal capacity, preferably in a logistics/supply chain environment OSHA Certification(s) Lean manufacturing experience or Six Sigma Certification Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to perform repetitive operations Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
