Software Engineer

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a full-time software engineer. In this role, you will work on software development and test execution as an individual contributor in the Ares team, which oversees our high-fidelity C++ Aegis Weapons Models, as well as tools and scripts that utilize those models. The Ares product line supports Aegis engineering activities throughout the entire system engineering life cycle, from algorithm design to flight test analysis, to training sailors on how to use the combat system before they ever step on a ship. Additionally, the Ares team oversees the services of our tactical Aegis system, which includes boundary components, redundancy requirements, data recording, and networking. Basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering with minimum two years of relevant experience. Proficient with use of Unix/Linux, C++, Java, and/or Python. Experience in agile workflow environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the secret level - U.S. citizenship required. Desired skills: Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering. Experience Git and/or GitLab. Experience with containerized development (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes). Data analysis experience. Experience in model-based engineering (MBSE) and associated tools (e.g. Rhapsody, Cameo). Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills through the understanding and use of math and physics. This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. Clearance level: secret. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our paid time off benefits. Schedule for this position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Pay rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $90,200 - $159,045. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
