Brixey & Meyer, a leading Regional CPA and Business Advisory firm, is spearheading this confidential search for a Controller to join a dynamic team. The company is currently confidential. About the Opportunity We are seeking a seasoned Controller to take ownership of the financial operations for a growing organization. This is a key leadership role responsible for both the day-to-day accounting functions and contributing to long-term strategy. The right candidate will spend about half their time working alongside their team to ensure accurate reporting, efficient processes, and strong internal controls, and the other half identifying opportunities, analyzing trends, and presenting solutions that support organizational growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, producing timely and accurate financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls over all accounting transactions. Conduct financial analysis to provide insight into trends, risks, and opportunities. Partner with leadership on annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial planning. Coordinate the external audit process and ensure successful audit outcomes. Monitor cash flow, debt levels, and compliance with lending agreements. Continuously evaluate processes and systems to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement. Provide training, guidance, and development opportunities for accounting staff. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred. CPA designation strongly preferred. Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting and leadership experience, ideally within a complex organization or public accounting environment. Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel expertise required). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use financial data for strategic decision-making. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
