Clarendon County is seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced
Deputy Chief Financial Officer
to help lead our financial operations and drive strategic fiscal management for the future. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in governmental accounting, budgeting, and financial management, along with a passion for ensuring the County’s financial health and operational efficiency.
This position offers clear opportunities for advancement. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of eight (8) years of accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred but not required. Demonstrated expertise in leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, department heads, and external partners. Key Responsibilities: Assist with overseeing all County financials, including
budget preparation and administration, financial reporting, audits, payroll, and compliance
with applicable laws and regulations. Provide sound fiscal leadership to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the County’s financial processes. Partner with leadership to develop and implement strategies that support long-term growth and stability.
