About the Role:
As an HR Generalist, it is crucial to support the human resources operations of the manufacturing facility. Reporting to the HR Director and Manager, the generalist will handle a variety of responsibilities focused on driving positive employee relations, ensuring compliance, and supporting a diverse workforce .
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Serve as a key point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, facilitating resolutions and promoting a positive work culture.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead hourly recruitment efforts, coordinate interviews, and manage the onboarding process for new hires.
- HR Administration: Manage HR data and analytics, maintain employee records, process payroll, and administer employee benefits programs.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations (including union contracts if applicable), and company policies. Assist in implementing safety programs and best practices.
- Performance Management: Support performance review processes, facilitate goal setting, and assist managers with performance-related action plans.
- Training and Development: Coordinate training initiatives, including compliance training (e.g., food safety).
- Other duties as assigned , which may include assisting with labor relations, audits, and company events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- EXPERIENCE IN A UNION MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT
- 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- A plus if Bilingual in Spanish
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
