Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: NYC (will be required to work some onsite, flexibility will be provided)

Hourly Pay Rate: $70 W2 (negotiable)
Annual Salary: $140 k per annum (negotiable for the right fit)

bout the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Data Engineer
to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and workflows using
Python ,
SQL , and
Dagster . You'll work closely with analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to ensure high data quality, reliability, and accessibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using
Dagster . Write clean, efficient, and reusable
Python
code for data processing and automation. Develop and maintain robust
SQL
queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery. Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to define data requirements. Implement best practices for data modeling, data versioning, and orchestration. Integrate data from multiple internal and external data sources. Maintain and improve data quality, documentation, and metadata.
Requirements:
2+ years
of experience in data engineering or a related field. Proficient in
Python
for data processing, scripting, and automation. Strong command of
SQL
and experience working with relational databases. Hands-on experience with
Dagster
(or similar orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect). Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift). Familiarity with version control tools like
Git
and CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of data modeling principles and data architecture best practices. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with other orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Luigi). Familiarity with dbt for data transformation and modeling. Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments. Exposure to containerization (Docker) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.).
