The main purpose of the Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program Coordinator position is to oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs that support individuals in improving their literacy, numeracy, and workforce readiness skills. This role ensures that instructional services align with state and federal guidelines while meeting the diverse needs of adult learners. By facilitating access to quality education and support services, the ABE Program Coordinator directly contributes to the college's mission of promoting lifelong learning, educational equity and community advancement. Responsibilities/Duties
Ensures measurable marketing, recruitment, and retention activities are met for assigned sites and the program; Ensures measurable enrollment activities are met for the assigned sites and overall program; Supervises and evaluates effectiveness of instructional staff in concert with Instructional Specialist; Ensures deadlines are met for submission of registration forms, learner enrollment forms, update forms and related student documents; Conducts student assessments (pre-post) and registration for assigned sites; Assists the Instructional Specialist with coordinating faculty assignments Assists the Director with collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports; Submits reports on attendance, participation, and program activity to client and BCCC as required by the program contract; Assists with coordinating College Link activities and employment preparation activities; Develops community partnerships, funding opportunities and grant proposals; Creates MOUs/MOA and service proposals for potential clients Teaches when a substitute instructor is not available; Other related duties as assigned. A?Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field. Experience: ?
Five (5) years of experience in coordinating and program management. Three (3) years of teaching experience in ground, online and hybrid platforms. Proficient in MS Suites (Excel, PowerPoint, Word...etc.). Experience with CANVAS Learning Management System. Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree in Education or related field. Seven (7) years of experience in developing and coordinator programs. Five (5) years in Adult Education as an instructor, teacher, or facilitator. Experience with AZTEC Learning. Experience with Ellucian BANNER Student Information System BCCC is the only community college in Baltimore City, one of 16 community colleges in Maryland, and both a higher education institution and a State of Maryland agency.
