Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor and Chair for the Department of Health Sciences starting in Spring 2026. The Chair is responsible for the Medical Laboratory Science program, the Health Care Administration program, and the graduate and undergraduate Public Health program. This is a faculty position requiring administrative, teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Responsibilities of the Chair: Ensures the effective governance and management of the department Supports efficient functioning and internal communications within the Department Provides effective management of departmental resources Maintains the quality and relevance of the educational programs Ensures faculty development and accountability through establishment of a faculty development plan, providing opportunities for professional growth, and establishment of productivity measures and faculty evaluation criteria/norms. Required Qualifications: A PhD or terminal degree from an accredited university in a health science-related field. Proven record of excellence in teaching, scholarly achievement, and service Administrative leadership experience in higher education and proven leadership in developing new academic programs Demonstrated organizational development and communication skills Demonstrated capacity to teach health-related courses To be considered for the Associate rank, at least five (5) years of full-time university faculty experience including at least four (4) years in the rank of assistant professor is required To be considered for the Full Professor rank, at least ten (10) years of full-time university faculty experience including at least four (4) years in the rank of associate professor is required Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science) and CEPH (Council on Education for Public Health) accreditation Ability to teach core courses within the Medical Laboratory Science curriculum Current ASCP certification All required documents requested must be uploaded in order to be considered for the position.
