Our client in Alpharetta is a company focused on "food as medicine" solutions for chronic conditions, has opening for Data Entry Specialists or Clerks to manage various types of information related to their programs and patients. Job Title:Data Entry Specialist

Location: Alpharetta, 30005

Time: M-F 9am-5pm

Employment: Full time, temp-to hire position

Pay: $18-$20/hr. Overview:

The Data Entry Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring the efficient operation of our food-as-medicine programs. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Enter program participation data, and other relevant information into designated systems and databases, according to healthcaresupport.com.

Review and verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, correcting any discrepancies or errors.

Maintain accurate and organized records, both electronic and potentially physical, depending on the specific tasks.

Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and other data privacy and security protocols when handling sensitive patient information.

Assist with data cleanup, formatting, and organization tasks as needed.

Generate reports or summaries based on entered data for internal analysis and reporting.

Collaborate with other team members, including clinical staff, program managers, and administrative support, to ensure smooth data flow and address any issues.

Potentially assist with administrative tasks, such as scanning, filing, and organizing documents.

Potentially handle customer or patient inquiries related to data, providing information or directing inquiries to the appropriate department. Required Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience in data entry, ideally in a healthcare setting.

Proficiency in typing (e.g., 45 WPM+) and data entry software/platforms.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures, and relevant documents is highly desirable.

Familiarity with medical software systems (e.g., EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech) is a plus.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and potentially patients or clients.

A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data security protocols (especially HIPAA).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Desired Skills (Optional):

Experience with specific EHR platforms.

Familiarity with medical billing software and coding tools (ICD-10, CPT).

Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
