The Work You Will Do:
This position is located within the Doral office of the Division of Florida Condominium, Timeshares and Mobile Homes and reports to the Bureau Chief of Public Engagement. This position is responsible for overseeing the Consumer Advocate.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for all required tasks related to the management of supervisors and their employees.
Supervises employees by assigning work, reviewing progress, and assessing performance. Performs all required administrative tasks, supervision, and program control of employees within the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes. This includes approving attendance and leave, writing and updating position descriptions, conducting recruitment and selection activities, and other supervisory-related duties. Plans, organizes, and delegates work assignments; evaluates the effectiveness of such assignments on an ongoing basis to improve the delivery of services to the public: plans workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives, and time utilization with the Regulatory Specialists. Review and assign inquiry cases. Coordinates all inquiry activities within the assigned area. Coordinates with the Bureau Chief of Public Engagement and other supervisors to ensure the public engagement section is up to date with current policies and procedures. Ensures that Regulatory Specialists refer constituents to appropriate resources and report any allegations related to criminal activity to the criminal referral unit. The incumbent in this position performs responsible managerial work by directing the activities of a regional office. Pursuant to F.S. 110.205(2)(W), this position spends 50% or more of its time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees. This position plans and directs employees' work and has the authority to recommend hiring, firing, and other personnel actions. Performs other related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to read, interpret, and apply statutes and administrative rules to specific fact scenarios. Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze, identify violations of statutes and rules, and identify elements of the alleged violations. Ability to speak in public forums. Ability to use of computers; proficient in Windows-based computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely in different driving environments. Minimum Requirements:
Two (2) years of supervisory experience. Two (2) years of investigation, regulatory, or relevant experience Preferred:
An bachelor's degree associate's degree from an accredited college or university in related field, at least two (2) years of investigation experience, or two (2) years of regulatory experience, and two (2) years of supervisory experience. Benefits of working for the State of Florida:
