For the 2025-2026 academic year, the Department of Theatre and Dance is looking for responsible, attentive, and service-oriented student employees to join the department's administrative team as Student Office Assistants. This position provides essential support for our administrative team and all occupants of the Department of Theatre and Dance facilities, and offers an opportunity to develop professional experience in arts administration, operations, and customer service in an academic setting. The Department of Theatre and Dance is a world-class educational environment that serves as the ultimate creative incubator for the next generation of artists, thinkers and leaders in theatre and performance. Responsibilities Greet visitors, faculty, students and staff Field and respond to questions in person, by phone and email Lock and unlock rooms within the Department of Theatre and Dance facilities, including the F. Loren Winship Drama Building and Laboratory Theatre Receive deliveries and route them to the appropriate recipients Provide support and documentation in case of an after-business hours emergency event Required Qualifications Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications Experience in customer service or administrative duties Salary Range $12.50/hour Working Conditions Work performed in a typical office setting Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation Work Shift The position is for 10-15 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. Some work performed after business hours, typically up to 10:30 p.m. Work to be performed in-person, on campus (300 East 23rd Street, Austin, Texas). Position ends on May 15, 2026. Rehire eligible based on performance.
