KCRA 3, the news leader in Sacramento and a Hearst Television station, is looking for an
Executive Producer
who can oversee our newscasts in a fast–paced news environment. We need someone who can construct a vision for newscasts and manage a team toward the vision. You will be a leader who can develop content that succeeds on all linear, digital, streaming, and social platforms. You are a pro when it comes to making decisions under daily pressure and have a solid background in news producing. The Executive Producer will recruit producers and work with the News Director to implement winning strategies for each newscast. You can handle Breaking News when it happens. When it doesn't, you’ll oversee a compelling product that delivers interesting content to our viewers. Overseeing the product is only one facet of the job. You must also be a coach and a leader with the ability to make those you oversee better. You will report to the News Director. Responsibilities
Oversight of the preparation of a rundown and scripts for the newscasts Research, pitch, and gather enterprise news stories Champion the use of graphics and showcasing to enhance our presentation Manage, coach, and motivate producers, reporters, and video journalists Respond to breaking news with urgency Oversee digital response to breaking news and social media engagement Write compelling news stories in active voice Host newscasts or specials as needed Post stories and videos on station website and mobile platforms Lead editorial meetings and pitch enterprise stories Perform administrative responsibilities including scheduling, performance reviews, training, and providing feedback Communicate with news staff, promotions, and production/engineering teams Requirements
At least 6 years of producing and/or news leadership experience Demonstrated experience in writing and visual storytelling Ability to coordinate multiple crews and responsibilities simultaneously Skill in summarizing information into clear, understandable components Creative presentation style and resourcefulness in showcasing all elements Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards Related military experience will be considered Willingness to work varied shifts and weekends as needed Salary
The estimated base salary range for this role is between $83,000 and $103,000. The actual salary offered depends on factors such as experience, skills, market conditions, geographic location, and other legal considerations. The salary range is subject to change. Diversity Statement
