Job Description Overview:
The Server Technical Marketing Engineer plays a critical role in delivering exceptional technical support and product guidance to our valued customers. This position ensures customer satisfaction through proactive issue resolution, technical expertise, and effective communication. The candidate will serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams, driving product excellence and customer success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert-level support for customer escalations and design-in inquiries.
Assist post-design-win customers with specification clarifications.
Manage escalations using a ticketing system, ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
Address high-priority escalations from Platinum-level customers.
Support testing and issue resolution for major customer launches.
Facilitate technical training and Q&A sessions for customers.
Troubleshoot and document customer-specific issues.
Draft professional customer communications.
Maintain knowledge of customer designs and suggest solutions during product shortages or misalignments.
Advocate for customer needs within development teams.
Required Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of AMD and Intel x86 server architectures, including server board and system-level architecture.
Experience with UEFI/BIOS configuration and debugging.
Familiarity with BMC/IPMI, Redfish, and remote management protocols.
Hands-on experience with RAID, storage subsystems, and NVMe/SATA/SAS interfaces.
Knowledge of PCIe architecture and device integration.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs).
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
Ability to use diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Experience with system performance benchmarking and tuning.
Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Understanding of thermal and power management in servers.
Ability to interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in server-based systems with a strong hardware and software background.
Preferred:
Experience in technical support operations and customer support.
Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with extended computer and phone use.
Occasional lab work for system configuration and debugging.
Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Occasional domestic and international travel (~20%).
