We have an urgent requirement for a Network Architect to act as an Expert Network Administrator for NYS Information Technology Services supporting the NYS Department of Transportation. Responsibilities

Architect technology solutions/systems that meet or exceed Agency business requirements, aligning with NYS ITS Technical and Security Service standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Network gear supporting DOT Traffic Signals and Traffic Management Centers, including performance tuning, log analysis, and security. Collaborate with COTS Vendors and Agency teams for gear installation, configuration, and testing, including pre-configuring field devices. Review existing network architecture and gear, providing detailed specifications and recommendations for upgrades and replacements. Provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise-level DOT Traffic Safety Management and Intelligent Transportation System. Use Agency applications to update inventory details of network equipment. Train field technicians on remote connectivity and assist in installation and maintenance of field systems. Ensure adherence to ITS security and technology policies. Some off-hours work may be required. Remotely guide field technicians during installation and maintenance activities. Mandatory Requirements

Experience of 15+ Years in network design and implementation. Design and implement LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, and other data communication networks, including modeling, analysis, and planning. Additional Requirements

This is a 100% onsite position. At least 84 months of configuring and troubleshooting LAN equipment in complex environments with at least 1,000 remote endpoints, including switches, routers/firewalls, and VPN devices, using protocol analysis tools like Wireshark. 84 months of experience with DMVPN, IPSec, OSPF/BGP. 84 months of experience with Cisco hardware and IOS in complex TCP/IP environments. 60 months of experience with wireless network equipment from Cisco, Ubiquiti, Aruba. 60 months of experience working with business users to understand requirements, implement solutions, and communicate effectively.
