What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda - Provide liability, damages, and value assessments as requested by the Claims Department - Prepare and manage pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and trial defense - Document files clearly and concisely for various stakeholders within the organization - Follow complex instructions and facilitate conflict resolution while managing multiple priorities
What is Required (Qualifications): - 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury - Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED - Admission to the New Jersey Bar REQUIRED - Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and fulfill mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements - Ability to travel as needed for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Experience in civil litigation - Background in insurance defense-related litigation - Strong professional communication skills, both in person and in written correspondence
