Job Overview – Senior Staff Accountant:Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000/year + bonusLocation: Boston, MASchedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office) Lead financial reporting and month-end close activities as a Senior Staff Accountant with our client in Boston, MA. In this in-office role, you will manage close processes, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and ensure GAAP compliance while supporting tax filings, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP-based consolidations. Ideal for accountants with manufacturing or multi-entity experience who excel in process improvement and analytical work. Responsibilities as the Senior Staff Accountant:
Financial Close & Reporting:
Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. Audit & Compliance:
Prepare audit schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits while ensuring adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements. Budgeting & Forecasting:
Gather and analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Consolidation & Intercompany Accounting:
Reconcile intercompany transactions and consolidate financial data from international subsidiaries to ensure accurate reporting. Process Improvement & Projects:
Support system upgrades, develop new reporting initiatives, and participate in ad hoc analysis to improve organizational efficiency. Qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience with proven financial reporting and consolidation experience, preferably within a manufacturing or multi-entity environment. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS, proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (MAS500 or similar), and familiarity with SOX controls. Skills & Attributes:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and high attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
