Kinsa is recruiting for a: Procurement Manager / Meat & Poultry

Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)

Our client is a Beef and Poultry processor based in the Greater Chicago Area. The mission for the Procurement Manager is sourcing and securing the raw materials, packaging, equipment, and services essential to our food manufacturing operations. You’ll lead strategic procurement initiatives that ensure product availability, quality, and compliance with food safety standards—while optimizing cost and supplier performance.

• Successful candidates MUST HAVE 5+ years of experience in a procurement and supply chain leadership.
• $90,000 – $120,000 base salary range
• Bonus potential is negotiable
• 401k with company match
• Vacation and Holiday pay

Key Responsibilities and Goals:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals and customer requirements.
• Oversee inventory management processes and define strategies to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and service-level expectations.
• Identify and develop new supply sources to mitigate risk and improve supply chain resilience.
• Monitor market trends and forecast price fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions.
• Evaluate supplier bids and make data-driven recommendations based on commercial and technical criteria.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless procurement operations.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, invoices, and payments.

Competencies Needed for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (required).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems).
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and influence stakeholders.
• High ethical standards and sound judgment in decision-making.
• Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost analysis.
• Ability to present effectively to diverse audiences.
