We are seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to become an integral part of our design team. In this exciting role, you will work on projects for electric utilities ranging from 12kV to 500kV. This position is ideal for those looking to gain valuable insights into how renewable energy integrates with the electric grid, while applying your skills in digital logic design, AC, and DC circuits to deliver top-tier substation electrical projects.

As a candidate, you will adhere to quality control and safety practices, ensuring compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and CAD technicians while aligning designs with client specifications.

Hybrid Work Schedule: (3 days per week in Orlando, FL office)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of substation physical projects.
  • Communicate effectively with the internal team and clients to meet project requirements.
  • Perform quality control checks on substation physical designs.
  • Read and design various substation physical drawings (one-line, three-line, plan-section, foundation, grounding).
  • Create and verify bills of materials for substation projects.
  • Conduct site visits at client locations.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with at least four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in grounding studies, lightning protection, and lighting studies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively.
  • Capability to thrive under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project or client sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Familiarity with protection and control design.
  • Experience in bus calculation.
  • Knowledge of WinIGS or CDEGS.
  • Master's degree in a related field.

Pay Range: $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

This pay range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, experience, skills, and market alignment.
