Overview
The role involves managing the engineering introduction of new interior trim accessories from concept into production, focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass, and cost efficiency. The engineer will work interactively within a cross-functional studio, marketing, and vehicle engineering teams, and develop benchmarking and testing plans to improve products.

Responsibilities
- Manage the engineering introduction of new interior trim accessories from concept into production.
- Create cutting edge parts for interior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.
- Work interactively within a cross functional studio, marketing and vehicle engineering teams, understanding the business case of each particular project.
- Develop and implement benchmarking and testing plans and activities to deliver a continued improvement in product.
- Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle interior trim accessories or SVO (special vehicle operations) design & development.
- Previous experience and background in solving complex technical issues and challenges.
- Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6.
- Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting).
- High and Low Volume Production methods.
- Launch experience.
- A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
- Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills.
- A great work ethic.
- Direct hands-on interior trim accessories or SVO experience.
- Developing test plan and schedule for new products.
