Our client, a reputable and privately-held company in Baltimore, MD is looking to hire an Accounting Assistant to their team! This is a new position as the company has been in existence for over four decades and continues to grow! The Accounting Assistant will report directly to the Corporate Controller, and will support accounting operations through various administrative and financial tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
This position is onsite/in-office 5 days per week in their Baltimore office. They are very flexible with their employees as this also has the potential to go to 4 days per week in office.

• Regular team events like happy hours, holiday celebrations and parties, an annual crab feast, and Orioles game!
  

• Support AP/AR Managers with invoice processing, payments, customer billing, and daily deposits.
• Assist with bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, utility billing, and document management.
• Perform general office duties such as data entry and document scanning.
• Maintain synchronization between tax software and ERP systems to ensure sales tax compliance.
• Collaborate with the accounting team on monthly close and other administrative tasks.
  

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred OR relevant work experience
• 13+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Sage Intacct preferred
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, general ledger)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
