We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst focused on budgeting/forecasting to join our organization. As a Financial Analyst, you will assist in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of the Credit Unions financial budget and forecasting efforts while delivering financial insights during the monthly close process and throughout strategic and annual planning cycles. You will provide financial planning, reporting, and analytical support through variance analysis, budget-to-actual tracking, and investigative reporting. Additionally, you will conduct deep dives into operating expenses to increase understand of financial drivers, identify potential levers, and enhance performance by performing scenario analysis used to evaluate financial impact, strategies, and reporting.

To thrive in this role, you should have three to five years of similar or related experience and an Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. This position is equal parts technical aptitude, analytic ability, and teamwork. This might be the role for you if you enjoy work requiring attention to detail, extensive contact with others, and working in a financial institution with an understanding of basic financial statements.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel, including the use of data tables, LOOKUPs and INDEX MATCH, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and dynamic formulas such as IF-statements.
  • SQL/Power BI experience preferred.
  • Ability to assist in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of the credit unions financial budget and financial forecasting efforts by utilizing budgeting and forecasting software, financial models, databases, and statistical tools.
  • Experience in conducting thorough analysis of financial statements, general ledger, and reporting in order to deliver financial insights.
  • Able to perform detailed variance analysis, tracking budget-to-actual performance, and conducting additional investigative reporting.
  • Experience in conducting deep dives into general ledgers and operating expenses to help departmental leadership understand their financial drivers and potential levers to enhance financial performance.
