Accounting Professional Opportunity

Valley Asphalt, located in Sharonville, OH is currently looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated professional to work within the Accounting team. You will be working at our new state of the art corporate office. Key Skill Areas & Responsibilities:
1. Financial Data Management & Analysis
- Compile and analyze financial data to support general ledger entries and business transaction documentation.
- Conduct accurate and timely account and bank reconciliations; resolve outstanding items with precision.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
- Assist in the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Review invoices, ensure proper coding, and support lien protection and collections efforts through proper documentation and timely submission of electronic filings.
3. Month-End Close & Reporting
- Prepare journal entries and contribute to the month-end close process by generating financial reports and verifying data accuracy.
- Identify, investigate, and correct inconsistencies in financial documents, entries, or reports.
4. Regulatory Filing & Compliance
- Collect data and assist in the preparation of various state and local tax filings and financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and complete records for auditing and compliance purposes.
5. Technology & Systems Proficiency
- Perform data entry and utilize accounting software to maintain accurate financial information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required; familiarity with systems such as Workday, JD Edwards, or One World is a plus.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; relevant college coursework preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role.
- Understanding of the construction, aggregate, or asphalt industry is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); ERP experience (Workday, JD Edwards, One World) is beneficial.
