Investigator II - 16th Circuit

The Office of the State Attorney, 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida, has an opening for an Investigator Position in our Key West office. This is a complex and confidential Investigator Position which involves: Initiating investigative work to support pre-trial and trial preparation; may testify in court as to conclusions and evaluations of evidence Evaluating evidence of investigations; prepares reports and findings Conducting criminal investigations as assigned Participating in multi-agency law enforcement task forces Conducting investigations and surveillance, and undercover operations Performing investigations for the Grand Jury Preparing and executing arrest and search warrant affidavits Making arrests on probable cause, capias, or warrant Executing search warrants and serving arrest warrants and subpoenas/summons on victims, witnesses, and suspects Interviewing victims, witnesses, suspects, and documenting findings Locating witnesses, providing transportation for those witnesses, and monitoring their whereabouts throughout court proceedings Coordinating and providing transportation for expert witnesses as well as victims or witnesses Providing personal and physical security as needed Serving as a liaison between the State Attorney's Office and law enforcement agencies Recommending training and equipment needs Attending and assisting at crime scene investigations Bilingual employees will assist in translations Supervising as assigned Organizing and preparing evidence for cases; assisting attorneys and investigators in preparing civil and criminal cases; interviewing witnesses, retrieving evidence, and preparing investigative reports Performing related work as required Employee must possess a State of Florida Division of Criminal Justice, Standards and Training Certificate, and meet the requirements of Section 943.13, Florida Statutes.
