Business And Human Resources Manager
Boston's News Leader, WCVB, the Hearst owned ABC affiliate in Boston (Needham), MA, is seeking a Business and Human Resources Manager. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on both numbers and people. The position blends finance/accounting responsibilities with human resources management, offering a unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment. You'll partner with our regional finance team on monthly closings and annual budget processes, while also supporting our employees and managing core HR activities. The successful candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and an excellent communicator who enjoys working collaboratively across departments. This is a full-time, in-office position. What You'll Do General Business Functions
Interpret and communicate financial results Serve as liaison between the station and regional accounting team on reporting Assist with forecasting and budgeting of revenues and operating expenses
Payroll
Support bi-weekly and weekly payroll review, processing, and reconciliation through ADP Prepare monthly payroll reports from ADP
Human Resources
Manage employee relations and provide HR support across the organization Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes Administer leave and workers' compensation programs Support employee benefits administration Manage employee data through Oracle HCM Oversee performance management processes Support labor relations under union collective bargaining agreements
Accounts Payable & Expenses
Process and approve invoices Review and approve purchasing card, travel, and entertainment expenses Maintain local operating contracts Oversee real estate and sales/use tax reporting
Asset Management
Manage fleet operations Track, tag, and dispose of fixed assets Oversee periodic physical inventory
What We're Looking For Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities Highly detail-oriented and organized Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide recommendations Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of accounting/finance experience Previous HR experience required; PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SCP certification a plus Payroll experience strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience with accounting and HR software applications such as Oracle (HCM & EPBCS), Wide Orbit, and ADP Related education, training, or military experience will be considered Diversity Statement At Hearst Television, we tell stories every daystories about people of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and identities.
