Senior Mechatronics Engineer
to join our Mobile Robot Engineering team within the Core Hardware Engineering organization. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing our next-generation robotic systems, leveraging your expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to create robust, reliable, and high-performance automation solutions. Collaborating with a talented team, you will contribute across the product lifecycle, from concept to deployment. This is an exciting opportunity to impact a fast-paced, innovative environment. What we do The Mechanical Engineering team, part of the larger Hardware Engineering group, specializes in designing state-of-the-art mechanical solutions for industrial automation. We develop large-scale capital equipment, integrating advanced robotic systems and mechanical structures for robust industrial applications. Our engineers are involved throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring our designs meet practical needs, emphasizing cross-functional collaboration, continuous process refinement, and high standards in mechanical design. What you’ll do Lead the design and development of complex mechatronic systems, including robotic arms, AGVs, sensors, actuators, and control systems. Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components to create fully functional robotic solutions. Develop testing and validation procedures to ensure system performance, reliability, and safety. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development, integration, and deployment. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers for seamless integration. Create and maintain design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test reports. Stay updated with advancements in mechatronics, robotics, and automation. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving design standards and processes. Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback. Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites. What you’ll need Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering; Master’s preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience in designing and implementing mechatronic systems, preferably in robotics or automation. Strong mechanical design knowledge, including kinematics, dynamics, materials, and manufacturing. Solid electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuits, power, and control systems. Experience with sensors, actuators, motors, and encoders. Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time control. Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink). Programming skills in C++, Python, or similar languages. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced setting. Experience with safety standards and robotics operating systems (ROS) is a plus. Our environment Up to 50% travel required; valid driver’s license necessary. Must own a credit card for expense management, with reimbursement bi-weekly.
