Our client, a major University in Boston, is in need of a contract HR Associate to provide critical administrative and logistical support in the area of personnel operations. The HR Associate will serve as lead administrator on several key processes and is responsible for coordinating, preparing, and tracking human resources transactions for employees in the university. They will support postdocs, full time faculty, part time faculty, exchange visitors and student workers. Working as a part of an HR team within the school, this role will be focused on several key HR functions, such as job posting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, time tracking, visiting scholar appointments, and I-9 compliance. This is a full-time (40 hrs weekly), long term (7 months) onsite position, although it could be extended longer. Responsibilities: Specifically, the HR Associate will focus on managing the college’s part time lecturer hiring and rehiring process: communicating with campus directors to confirm assignments, generating appointment letters and processing payments for part-time faculty. Processing new hires and onboarding new hires. The position will maintain accurate personnel files and records, and will serve as back-up for team members during absences. Other responsibilities include staying current with all new Human Resources policies and procedures and maintaining HR systems. This position requires someone with a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding, employee compensation etc. They will also be serving as the primary liaison between employees and university Human Resources on issues related to hiring, data accuracy, benefits, payroll, time tracking, etc. In addition, the HR Associate is responsible for creating and updating process documentation, workflows, and guides for HR hiring and onboarding practices. Requirements: A BA degree. Must be able to provide excellent customer service to school leaders, managers, and faculty and proactively resolve problems. The HR Associate must have exceptional attention to detail, be well-organized and able to juggle multiple competing priorities, clearly and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
