Overview

Under the supervision of the Manager – Faculty HR Administration, the HR Associate provides critical administrative and logistical support in personnel operations for the Khoury College of Computer Sciences. The HR Associate serves as lead administrator on several key processes and is responsible for coordinating, preparing, and tracking human resources transactions for employees in the college. The HR Associate will support postdocs, full-time faculty, part-time faculty, exchange visitors and student workers. Working as part of an HR team within the College, this role focuses on HR functions such as job posting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, time tracking, visiting scholar appointments, and I-9 compliance. Specifically, the HR Associate will focus on managing the college’s part-time lecturer hiring and rehiring process: communicating with campus directors to confirm assignments, generating appointment letters and processing payments for part-time faculty; processing new hires and onboarding new hires. The position will maintain accurate personnel files and records, and will serve as back-up for team members during absences. Other responsibilities include staying current with all new Human Resources policies and procedures and maintaining Khoury HR systems. This position requires someone with broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding to compensation, etc. The HR Associate provides excellent customer service to Khoury leaders, managers, and faculty and proactively resolves problems, serving as the primary liaison between Khoury employees and university Human Resources on issues related to hiring, data accuracy, benefits, payroll, time tracking, etc. In addition, the HR Associate is responsible for creating and updating process documentation, workflows, and guides for HR hiring and onboarding practices. The HR Associate must have exceptional attention to detail, be well-organized and able to juggle multiple competing priorities, clearly and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Responsibilities

Stay current with HR policies and maintain Khoury HR systems. Minimum Qualifications

Typically a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least three years of related experience in a customer-focused environment, preferably in higher education, nonprofits, or related field. General HR knowledge, discretion in handling confidential information, and ability to build professional relationships across a broad spectrum of employees. Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. Proactive, self-motivated with initiative. Ability to translate HR policies and processes into clear language for managers and staff. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate or interpret needs of employees and managers. Strong proofreading, organizational, and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects. Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and quality of work. Proficiency in MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to learn core HR platforms. Strong team orientation and flexibility; ability to operate independently after initial project assignment and with occasional guidance. Job Details

Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $35.00/hr Pay rate: $35/hour on W2 Position Type: 07+ months contract with potential extensions Work Schedule: 40 hours/week Location: 1-2 days a week in the office Duration: 7 months, with potential for extension or conversion Background check requirements: base package
