Software Developer, Senior

Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Support team. The candidate will work closely with the development team and our customers in the DoD and IC. The position is on-site in Washington, DC at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and requires a TS/SCI w CI Poly clearance.

What you will do

• Meet all qualifications and skills of a Mid-Level developer and possess comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments.
• Plan and lead major technology projects.
• Evaluate performance results and recommend significant changes to support project growth and success.
• Serve as a technical expert across multiple projects.
• Supervise team members, if applicable.

What you need to have

• Bachelor's degree related to the field from an accredited college or university, plus 2 years of related senior experience (total of 10 years), or a Master's degree.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, JEE, or Python.
• Experience with microservices and containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Experience with development and integration tools including AWS, Docker, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
• Experience supporting systems engineering efforts in design, solution engineering, and software development.
• Proficiency with Linux OS and command line interface.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Compliant Certification (Security+ or CISSP) within 6 months of start date.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Open Systems Architecture principles.
• Experience with automated testing and DevOps tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and GIT.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of UI technologies such as React or AngularJS.
• Knowledge of Apache NiFi and Kafka.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification.
