Position Overview
The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner collaborates with the HR Centers of Excellence to administer HR programs relating to the employee life cycle, performance management, compensation, and employee relations. This position will partner with Directors of assigned Chiefs/Directors on employee development, effectiveness, employee relations, and will facilitate the delivery of HR programs and services to support office and department objectives while providing Human Resources strategic support. The Human Resources Business Partner reports to the Director of Human Resources – Global Business Services.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with Director of Human Resources – Global Business Services and HR Leadership Team to drive key elements of performance management, complex employee relations, leadership development and retention
- Liaises with the HR centers of excellence on components of the employee lifecycle including onboarding, benefits, payroll, compensation, talent acquisition, and departures
- Proactively meets and consults with department leadership on performance management, employee engagement and development including progressive discipline, reward and recognition and training
- Ensures fair and complete resolution to employee relations matters, considering all risk and liability to the firm while leveraging the appropriate resources for support when needed
- Addresses performance issues in a timely manner, and documents all verbal and written counseling, meets with the employee and manager regularly to track the status of improvement of performance initiatives and brings issues to closure
- In-person/virtual visits to offices to support the implementation of strategic HR plans, investigations, terminations and handle other HR specific needs
- Proficiency in compliance with state labor laws, legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resource functions. Coordinates with the HR Operations team regarding changes to state law that would affect any BCLP HR policy or procedure
- Keeps the Director of HR – Global Business Services apprised of issues relating to performance, staffing or employment
- Partners with assigned Chiefs/Directors on workforce organization structure and strategies
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the office
- Investigates work related accidents and prepares reports for Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier
- Partners with HR Operations on Anti-Harassment Training certification for assigned departments ensuring 100% compliance
- Supports the HR Learning & Development team with training for managers, supervisors and employees
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Ability to inspire and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients on all levels
- Ability to lead and motivate staff to perform up to established work standards
- Ability to analyze issues, determine causes of problems, identify and implement solutions and measure results
- Ability to make efficient and effective presentations
- Familiarity with HRIS, Microsoft Word, and Excel or similar spreadsheet program
- Ability to prioritize and delegate workflow while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven project management skills with the ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions
Supervisory Responsibility
This position may have direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities.
Travel
This position may require travel to US firm locations.
Education/Experience/Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Management
• Minimum of five (5) years Human Resources Management experience handling employee relations, performance, and employment matters

Pursuant to Illinois pay transparency laws, BCLP is posting a reasonable estimate of a compensation range for this position. At the time of posting, the estimated range is $120,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the level of relevant experience, skill sets, training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, market data, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The range is based on a full-time work schedule. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
