Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machinist for a contract opportunity in Riviera Beach, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
* 2+ years of experience as a machinist, or completion of a machinist apprenticeship program
* Strong understanding of machining principles, including geometry, trigonometry, and metallurgy
* Proficiency in operating various machine tools, including CNC machines
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
* Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certificate in machining or a related field preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Set up and operate various manual machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
* Select and use appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials to achieve desired results
* Perform machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, to produce parts and components
* Inspect and test finished parts to ensure they meet quality and precision standards
* Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment as needed
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
* Collaborate with other machinists, engineers, and technicians to achieve production goals and resolve technical issues
* Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
The General Machinist will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards associated with machining operations
* The role requires standing, walking, and lifting, as well as frequent use of hand tools and machinery
* The General Machinist must be able to work in a team environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
* Experience with CAD/CAM software and programming languages, such as G-code and M-code.
* Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Certification as a journeyman machinist or equivalent.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certificate in machining or a related field preferred
