Bookkeeper Contract Position In Santa Monica, California

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Monica, California. In this role, you will manage key financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational processes. Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, ensure proper documentation, and manage timely payments as part of the accounts payable workflow.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including generating invoices, recording payments, and addressing outstanding balances.
• Use QuickBooks and Yardi to accurately record, reconcile, and maintain financial transactions and records.
• Prepare journal entries, conduct monthly reconciliations, and generate financial reports as needed.
• Maintain accurate and compliant vendor and tenant records in line with organizational policies.
• Communicate with vendors, clients, and tenants to resolve billing or payment discrepancies with attention to detail.
• Assist with audits by providing required documentation and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Collaborate with the finance team to support accurate and timely end-of-month close activities.
• Adhere to nonprofit financial policies while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial data.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar position with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Yardi for financial management tasks.
• Familiarity with nonprofit financial practices is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills for engaging professionally with vendors, clients, and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a dynamic environment.
