Bookkeeper Position

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Wayzata, Minnesota. This role involves overseeing month-end accounting tasks, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining inventory records. As a long-term contract position, this opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a small-office environment and enjoys working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expense reports with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and collections.
  • Track and manage inventory, ensuring records align with vendor documentation.
  • Prepare vendor payments, focusing on transactions with the primary supplier.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and perform account reconciliations.
  • Maintain financial records and transactions using QuickBooks software.
  • Collaborate with external accounting professionals to ensure accurate and timely sales tax filings.
  • Provide support for multi-state sales tax compliance, if applicable.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, with demonstrated ability to manage financial records.
  • Experience in sales tax filings, preferably with multi-state compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a small-office setting.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
  • Previous experience in bank reconciliations and month-end accounting.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel is a plus but not required.
