Interior Designer / Interior Architect

to lead and contribute across all phases of design and delivery in our

St. Louis, MO

studio. You will establish clear design principles, translate them into compelling concepts, and produce coordinated documentation that ensures the built solution reflects the intent in

form, finish, and function . What You’ll Do Design Leadership & Concept Development Establish project design drivers (program, brand, user experience, wellness, sustainability) and translate them into space plans, palettes, and narratives.

Lead programming, test fits, adjacency diagrams, and concept presentations.

Develop cohesive material/finish strategies and FF&E concepts aligned with budget and performance criteria.

Documentation & BIM Coordination Produce and manage

BIM-based

construction documents (plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, details, schedules).

Coordinate with architecture, MEP, structural, and specialty consultants to ensure clash-free, buildable solutions.

Maintain model health, drawing standards, and QA/QC checklists throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Execution Author interior details, millwork/shop drawings review notes, specifications, and performance criteria.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., IBC, NFPA, ADA/Accessibility).

Prepare permit sets, bid packages, addenda, and bulletins.

Client Engagement & Presentation Create clear, persuasive visual and verbal presentations (renderings, mood boards, materials, diagrams).

Lead client work sessions, capture decisions, and translate feedback into actionable design updates.

Manage vendor relationships and material/finish submittals.

Construction Administration Respond to RFIs, review submittals/shop drawings, and issue ASIs.

Conduct site observations, track punch items, and support closeout documentation.

Project & Team Support Plan work, sequence tasks, and manage deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.

Mentor junior designers; contribute to internal libraries, standards, and best practices.

Proactively identify risks, propose solutions, and drive issues to resolution.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary:

$85,000 – $115,000

(commensurate with experience and portfolio quality)

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications) Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited program.

Experience:

6–12 years in professional interiors/architecture practice, with documented experience from concept through CA.

Credentials:

NCIDQ and/or architectural licensure a plus (or actively pursuing).

Software: Required:

Revit (BIM) ;

Enscape

and/or

Rhino

for visualization.

Preferred: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Bluebeam, Microsoft 365; familiarity with SketchUp and specification tools a plus.

Technical Competence:

Strong detailing, documentation, and code literacy (IBC/ADA).

Portfolio:

Demonstrated work that balances design excellence with technical clarity and constructability.

Communication:

Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication; confident presenter and collaborator.
