About the Role Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an experienced Cloud System Administrator to support the deployment, configuration, and management of secure, distributed cloud environments. This hands-on role is perfect for an engineer with deep cloud expertise, a strong security mindset, and a passion for building and maintaining scalable infrastructure. This position is 100% onsite in a secure facility in Annapolis Junction, MD, supporting critical national security missions.
Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain cloud-based and distributed systems Support containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker Configure software load balancers (e.g., HAProxy, Nginx) for large-scale services Utilize SSH-based utilities (rsync, pdsh, pdcp, WinSCP) for secure operations Monitor systems with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Filebeat, Grafana, rsyslog Apply knowledge of networking fundamentals: VLANs, port channel bonding, Layer 2/3 interactions Implement security best practices in cloud operations Collaborate with engineering teams in a high-security, mission-focused environment
Qualifications & Requirements
U.S. Citizenship Required Active TS/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph Education & Experience:
1 3 years of relevant experience required Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Mathematics highly preferred (may substitute for 2 years of experience) Technical Skills & Certifications:
Must hold a Hadoop/Cloud System Administrator Certification or a comparable DoD 8570-compliant certification, such as:
AWS Certified Developer Associate AWS DevOps Engineer Professional Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Elastic Certified Engineer
Advanced proficiency with SSH tunneling and secure file utilities Solid understanding of Kubernetes orchestration and Docker containerization Familiarity with cloud monitoring/logging tools like ELK stack, Grafana, rsyslog
