Momentum Engineering is currently looking to hire a Cloud Software Engineer III on a full-time, permanent basis. This position must be performed 100% onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD and requires an active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. Title: Cloud Software Engineer III Location: Annapolis Junction, MD Pay Range: $180,000.00 - 235,000.00 USD per year (AJ6) Job Summary: Seeking a Cloud Software Engineer with strong DevOps and systems engineering expertise to support mission-critical environments The engineer will be hands-on with Elastic (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Kubernetes, Ansible, and Linux system administration, while also applying modern DevOps practices to deliver secure, automated, and scalable solutions in cloud and hybrid infrastructures Primary Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain cloud-native applications and services with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security Deploy, configure, and manage the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for search, monitoring, and analytics Administer and optimize Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration Implement Ansible-based automation for provisioning, patching, and configuration management Perform Linux system administration tasks (hardening, troubleshooting, monitoring, performance tuning) Support DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) and integrate with source control, testing, and deployment tools Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity engineers, and mission stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational requirements Document engineering processes, system baselines, and lessons learned Required Qualifications: Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related field 14 years of relevant experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, or systems engineering Hands-on experience with Elastic (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) Strong expertise in Kubernetes cluster administration Proficiency in Ansible for automation/configuration management Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) Strong Linux administration skills (Red Hat/Ubuntu or equivalent) Desired Qualifications: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, CloudFormation) Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana) Benefits: Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans.
