About The Opportunity Our team is reimagining how humans interact with machines through real-time, high-bandwidth control systems that extend human capability across distance and time. We’re hiring for an ML Engineer to build dexterous robot learning systems that operate reliably in the real world. You’ll focus on enabling robotic arms to learn manipulation tasks from human demonstrations and prompts – bridging perception, planning, and control. This role spans the full stack of embodied AI, from training visual-language models to deploying robust policies on hardware via ROS2. Responsibilities Develop and train AI models that enable robots to perform high-dexterity manipulation tasks Leverage demonstrations and prompting to accelerate learning in both simulation and real environments Integrate visual language models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs) for task understanding and real-time perception Implement and deploy robotic learning pipelines using ROS2 on physical hardware Collaborate closely with hardware, perception, and controls teams to ensure seamless real-world performance Advance the capabilities of home and warehouse robots through continual learning and experimentation Strong background in robot learning, especially imitation learning or reinforcement learning for manipulation Proficiency with ROS2 and deploying AI systems on physical robots Experience training and integrating multimodal models (VLMs, LLMs) for embodied tasks Solid programming skills in Python and/or C++ for robotics and ML applications Understanding of control systems, motion planning, and kinematics for multi-DOF arms Demonstrated experience shipping AI models in production or research settings Nice to Haves Prior experience with warehouse robot arms or other real-world manipulation systems Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or PyBullet) and sim-to-real transfer Contributions to open-source robotics or AI projects Background in human-robot interaction or user-facing robotic applications Experience deploying models to embedded or edge devices For bonus points, email john@bitstoatoms.com with your portfolio or any interesting research you have done.
