Washington Staffing, Redmond, Washington, United States, 98052
Software Engineer
Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. Manufacturing systems engineering under Project Kuiper Prod-Ops is responsible for delivering software and frameworks that improve speed and quality of testing of satellite components. We partner with engineering and production teams to bring reliability and repeatability to our systems, improve throughput and accelerate the transition. We are looking for a software engineer with experience in building software development kits, creating mock services and simulators, and adding integrations with industry standard tools such as Test stand and Labview. Candidate will have hands on experience in programming languages like Python and Java, and is familiar with AWS cloud services and preferably familiarity with software-hardware interfaces. Key job responsibilities include participating in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design solutions. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open, collaborative peer environment. You will work with cross-functional partner teams and lead efforts with engineers from requirements to deployment. The MSE team builds solutions to deliver fully automated stations capable of instant pass/fail analysis to help improve throughput and operator efficiency. MSE's responsibilities include documentation of testing requirements, delivery of the software frameworks, libraries and tools necessary to automate stations and types of tests (Vibration Testing (Vibe), Thermal Vacuum Chamber (TVAC), Thermal Cycling (TC), and Highly Accelerated Stress Screen (HASS)), and improvement of test station designs to increase throughput and improve operator safety and efficiency. This end-to-end ownership will allow MSE to streamline and improve the entire process, from station design to implementation and support, ensuring process consistency and seamless integration of all manufacturing systems across all production sites. Basic qualifications include 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience, and experience programming with at least one software programming language. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
