Cook Position at Solitude Mountain Resort

Company Name: Solitude Mountain Ski Area, LLC d/b/a Solitude Mountain Resort Job Title: Cook Dates of Temporary, Fulltime Employment: 11/1/2025-5/1/2026 Number of Openings: 10 Job Description: Prepare, cook, and season dishes in a timely delivery. Perform mise-en-place in sufficient quantities for the day's counts. Assisting the Sous Chef and Chef with the preparation and presentation of the daily menus (especially high-quality specials, soups, stew, and chilies) and assist servers with restocking and service of selections at stations where lines develop during peak business hours. Assist servers during busy times to speed guests through lines. Demonstrate proper operation of equipment, and use of knives and other kitchen tools. Work cooperatively with stewards. Keep work and service areas clean and uncluttered, especially walk-in coolers. Observe proper storage and rotation of food to ensure freshness and avoid waste. Label and store leftover products in the appropriate area of the cooler or kitchen. Perform daily food inventories before the end of each shift. Experience Requirement: 12 months of cook and kitchen experience is required. Education Requirement: High School, GED or equivalent. Training or Certification Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a current, valid state-required licenses and or certifications such as Food Handler's Permit and Sips and Tips. Special Requirements for the Job: 1 year of cook and kitchen experience is required. Capable of standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 40 lbs. Willing to work flexible work schedules that may include nights, holidays, and weekends. Post-Hire Background Check Required On-the-Job Training provided. Will Train. Job Location: Snow Park Lodge - 12000 E Big Cottonwood Canyon, Brighton, UT 84121. Hours Per Week: 35 Frequency of Pay: Bi-weekly Days and Shifts: Following shifts available 7 days a week including weekends and holidays. Work hours from: 6:00 AM-11:00 PM, shifts based on the time of the season, daylight, and need. Hourly Wage: $22.00-$25.00/hourly non-tipped and Tipped (Depending on F&B location) position with a guaranteed wage of $18.03 to $20.00 per hour. Possible Wage Increase: Solitude Mountain Resort offers pay raises based on performance and merit. Overtime Possible: Overtime may be available at $33.00 to $37.50 per hour (Non-Tipped) and $27.05 to $30.00 per hour (Tipped). Pay Period: A single work week, starting Saturday, will be used to calculate hourly wages, and will be paid Bi-weekly. No housing provided but will assist in finding local housing from third party landlords. Transportation is not provided. All worksites are accessible by Employee Shuttle, UTA bus transit, Employee Le Bus. Optional Deductions from Paycheck: Lost or stolen ski pass and Nametags, ruined or lost uniform, 401k, Housing Rent, Housing Security Deposit. Fringe Benefits: Ski lift passes for employees and eligible dependents or 1 friend, discounts at all restaurants and retail. 3 free group ski lesson, with 3 days of ski rentals, discounts on lodging and day pass to other resorts in the area. Visa Fees: The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but need not include passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. Three-Fourths Guarantee: In accordance with 20 C R 655.20(f); the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Inbound/Outbound Transportation: Transportation and subsistence costs from the place from which the worker has to travel, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment will be provided to the worker by check if the worker completes 50% of the period of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 Per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts, consistent with 20 CFR 20(j)(1)(i) and 20 CFR 655.20(j)(1)(ii). Tools: The employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k).
