Position Overview:
We are seeking an Expert Software Architect for our client who will support the New York State ITS by providing senior-level architecture and development expertise for the Integrated Justice Portal. The Expert Software Architect will design and implement software solutions, define technical standards, and ensure systems are built for scalability, performance, and compliance. The position requires deep expertise in Oracle (12c or higher), SQL/PLSQL, ETL development, Linux shell scripting (Korn, Bash, PowerShell), and data modeling with ERWIN. Candidates should also have strong experience in data analysis, optimization, and supporting enterprise-level production environments.
Responsibilities:
Apply Integrated Justice Portal standards when building and maintaining databases. Use business requirements, use cases, and workflow diagrams to design complex relational databases. Follow the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. Contribute to agency standards and apply industry best practices in development. Develop queries, views, and stored procedures for data extraction and reporting using SQL in Oracle databases. Provide production support for applications, including monitoring, performance tuning, and user assistance. Build, maintain, and deploy batch processes to support Gun Safety business processes. Research and recommend emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and improve systems. Create and maintain data dictionaries and business glossaries to support governance.
Qualifications:
7 years experience creating Views, Triggers, stored procedures, functions, and writing SQL in Oracle (12c or higher). 7 years of experience using a data modeling tool such as ERWIN to create physical and logical data models, reverse engineer existing databases, and compare databases in Oracle (12c or higher). 7 years of experience developing complex ETL processes using shell scripts (Korn, Bash, PowerShell), SQL scripts, and PL/SQL. 7 years of experience performing data analysis and creating reports for customers. 7 years of experience optimizing SQL queries and debugging PL/SQL objects (packages, functions, and procedures). 5 years of experience developing Korn shell and Bash shell scripts in a Linux environment.
