District Four - Transportation Development / Mapping & Surveys This position will prepare maps, sketches, and legal descriptions to convey right of way, easements, and agreements. Commercial Blvd Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 $45,540.49 - $58,934.75 A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,976.00 will be added to the annual salary. Reviews consultant submittals for conformity to the Department's standards, guidelines, procedures, and the scope of services. Ensures deliverables meet the principles, practices, laws, and regulations governing Surveying & Mapping. Communicates with supervisor and consultants to resolve technical issues and discrepancies. Processes field data collected by survey crews, evaluates and assures the data is accurate, complete, and ensures data meets quality standards and project scope. Produces complete databases containing survey data and Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) files for use in design and mapping purposes. Monitors the filing, storage and delivery of data and files. Collects existing information such as field survey data, right of way maps, plats, title, and recorded documents. Assists Department staff with data and existing information dissemination such as field survey data, right of way maps, plats, title, and recorded documents. Analyzes and calculates the location of the baselines and rights of way. Ensures maps, sketches, and descriptions meet the principles, practices, laws, and regulations governing Surveying & Mapping. Utilizes CADD applications to create maps and sketches, including Project Network Control sheets. Uses related CADD applications to perform various calculations and analysis of data. Adheres to Department standards, guidelines, and procedures for creating maps and sketches. Assists in training and development of other Department staff with CADD and Surveying & Mapping activities. Provides support to supervisor with monitoring schedules. Knowledge of: advanced surveying mathematics. principles, laws, and regulations governing surveying and mapping. Department policies, handbooks, and procedures. standard research methods and resources Skilled in: the use of personal computers and related applications. the use of CADD applications. oral and written communication. establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to: prepare and maintain reports, records, files, and correspondence. plan, organize, coordinate and perform multiple assignments. read legal descriptions, maps, plats, and plans. Minimum Qualifications: One year experience in a Surveying and/or Mapping production environment.
